How To Be Happy 5

Psalms 144:15b: . . . happy is that people, whose God is the LORD.

Is the Lord your God or do you put other things (idols) above Him?

Job 5:17: Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty:

Are you happy because you experience God*s chastening and correction?

John 13:14: If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another*s feet. 15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you. 16 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. 17 If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.

Do you serve others?

1 Peter 3:14: But and if ye suffer for righteousness* sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;

Do you suffer for doing what is right or do you suffer for doing what is wrong?

James 5:11: Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.

Are you patient in troubles and trials like Job was?

1 Peter 4:14: If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.

Are you reproached because you belong to Christ? Are you reproached because you glorify God?

Deuteronomy 33:29: Happy art thou, O Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved by the LORD, the shield of thy help, and who is the sword of thy excellency! and thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places.

Have you been saved by the Lord?

How can anyone be foolish enough to desire the temporary and inferior happiness offered by the Devil who hates us and wants to drag us away from God and down to Hell? How can anyone believe that the All-powerful God who loves us and wants to lift us to Heaven will not provide the best happiness?
